The Cancun hotel zone is where it all happens for most visitors. Kukulcan Boulevard is the main thoroughfare and is home to the best nightclubs, bars, restaurants and shopping malls. The east side of the island meets the Caribbean Sea and is studded by fabulous resort hotels. The Laguna Nichupte is on the west side of the island and is home to marinas, waterfront restaurants, shopping malls and golf courses. Cancun city is on the mainland and has exciting  markets and some of Cancun’s best restaurants.

The Riviera Maya is a 70 mile stretch of powdery white sand beaches and turquoise waters that runs from the south end of Cancun’s hotel zone to Punta Piedra just south of Tulúm. It is dotted with Mayan ruins such as Tulúm and Cobá and resort towns like Playa del Carmen. There are ecological reserves, golf resorts, jungle tours, a variety of water sports, and so much more.
